Terry Li (she/they) is a Chinese American actor, voice actor, and makeup artist based in Los Angeles. You can hear them in Better Late Than Single (Netflix), as the English voice of Jeong-Eun in Season 2 of the hit Korean reality dating show. Terry's drawn to irreverent dark comedies, and outcasts with a tender heart and sharp wit.She has starred in several films at Oscars-qualifying film festivals, such as HollyShorts, LA Shorts, Cinequest, and more. You can see them in May I Put You on Hold?, the award-winning short film recently on the Festival Circuit. They are also starring in the upcoming short films, Waiting Room (dir. Celine Foster, Sundance) and Special Someone (dir. Jessica Liu, Better Life w/ Randall Park).Terry also works in theatre and new play development, most recently at Geffen Playhouse, IAMA Theatre Company, and Echo Theater Company. They have worked on dozens of new plays, including starring in the Shonda Rhimes commission Perfect Daughter by Chloé Hung (formerly Care Less).
They’ve studied at NBC, Juilliard Extension, East West Players, Groundlings, and Upright Citizens Brigade. They are an Actor and Ensemble Member at the award-winning IAMA Theatre Company. Terry also co-founded On the Verge Repertory in Santa Barbara, CA, dedicated to new plays by femme, queer, and BIPOC playwrights.Terry can also be seen in major brand commercials and in digital media, with over 4 million views on BuzzFeed. She won Best Actress at the Santa Barbara Independent Award. They are currently writing their debut short film.Terry is a native speaker in Cantonese and Toisanese. Terry graduated from UC Santa Barbara (BA Feminist Studies, BA English Literature), focusing on pop culture media within a sociological framework. They are also a professional certified makeup artist for TV, film, and stage, bringing their unique perspective to both behind the scenes and camera/stage.
